Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent. Enrolled Nursing Certificate. Current Registration with SANC as Enrolled Nurse (2026).
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Competencies:
All nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes and other relevant legal frameworks, such as nursing Act, Health Act and scope of practice as a Staff Nurse. Good interpersonal relations, communication skills, basic writing skills, basic interpersonal skills and ability to function and work as part of a team. An understanding of the challenges facing the public health sector. Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of Patient Rights Charter, Batho Pele Principles, Ethical Code of Conduct, basic labour Relations. Knowledge on nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes and other relevant legal framework.
Maintain client satisfaction through quality service, innovation and nursing care by upholding the principles of Batho Pele and Patients’ Rights and Responsibility. Ensure that infection control and health and safety standards are maintained at all times. Ensure the effective, efficient and economical use of allocated resources. Maintain clinical professional and ethical standards related to these services. Develop establish and maintain constructive working relationship with staff and other stakeholders. Display a concern for patients, promoting, advocating and facilitating proper treatment and care and ensuring that the unit adhere to the principles of Bath Pele. Ensure the rendering of nursing care under the direct and indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse as directed by the Scope of Practice. Maintain accurate records and confidentiality. Ensure safe and efficient functioning of the Human milk bank.
