We are looking for an energetic, commercially minded and hands-on Club Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and growth of our padel club in Hermanus.
This is not simply an administrative management role. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, building a community and actively driving the performance of the club.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the overall club experience -- from ensuring the courts and facilities are maintained to a high standard, to managing staff, growing bookings, organising events and developing relationships with local businesses, schools and the wider community.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operations of the club and ensure consistently high facility standards.
Manage and motivate club staff, including rostering, training and performance management.
Drive court bookings, events, coaching, rentals and other club revenue opportunities.
Actively market the club to local businesses, schools, corporates and community organisations.
Plan and deliver social events, tournaments, coaching days and community activations.
Develop initiatives to increase off-peak court utilisation.
Build and grow the club's player community and encourage repeat bookings.
Ensure customers receive a professional, welcoming and responsive experience.
Develop partnerships with local businesses and identify sponsorship opportunities.
Oversee POS procedures, daily reconciliations and basic club financial controls.
Monitor maintenance, safety and presentation of courts, equipment and clubhouse facilities.
Provide regular performance reporting covering revenue, utilisation, marketing, staffing and operations.
Identify and implement new ideas to grow the club and improve its overall performance.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who isOutgoing and personable -- comfortable engaging with players, businesses and the local community.
Commercially minded -- understands that increasing bookings, events and revenue is a core part of the role.
Highly organised -- able to manage staff, events, maintenance and administration simultaneously.
Proactive -- identifies opportunities and solves problems without waiting to be asked.
Sales and marketing orientated -- comfortable making calls, approaching businesses and promoting the club.
Customer focused -- passionate about creating an excellent experience for every player.
Hands-on -- willing to get involved wherever necessary to ensure the club operates properly.
Accountable -- comfortable working towards clearly defined performance targets and KPIs.
Previous experience in hospitality, leisure, sports clubs, gyms, events, retail management or customer-facing operations would be advantageous.
Knowledge of padel is beneficial, but enthusiasm, attitude and commercial ability are more important.
