Our client is a fast-growing specialist in Solar PV Operations & Maintenance (O&M), focused on maximising the performance, reliability, and value of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar assets. They are seeking a Head of Technical to lead the company's technical function, drive portfolio performance, and provide technical leadership while working closely with operations, field teams, and clients. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong Solar PV expertise who enjoys solving technical challenges, optimising asset performance, and mentoring teams.

Lead the technical strategy and performance of the Solar PV portfolio. Monitor and optimise system performance, availability, and energy yield. Analyse monitoring data to identify faults, perform root cause analysis, and recommend improvements. Support preventative and corrective maintenance planning alongside Operations & Maintenance teams. Oversee technical optimisation and upgrade projects. Build and maintain performance dashboards and technical reports. Act as the primary technical contact for clients, providing clear recommendations and performance insights. Mentor and develop the technical and O&M teams while promoting engineering best practices.

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. 5 -8+ years' experience within the Solar PV industry. Strong experience in Solar PV Operations & Maintenance and asset performance optimisation. Experience using monitoring platforms such as VCOM, SCADA, or similar Solar PV monitoring systems. Solid understanding of performance metrics such as PR, availability, energy yield, and system losses. Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple projects. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and client-facing communication skills. Own transport and valid license

Advantageous

Experience with C&I Solar PV portfolios. Knowledge of Power BI, advanced Excel, or other reporting and analytics tools. Experience mentoring engineers and developing technical processes.
