An established client in Ballito is seeking a technically minded and reliable Junior Workshop Assistant to join their workshop team. The successful candidate will assist experienced technicians with general workshop requirements, the preparation and rebuilding of equipment, and related practical tasks while developing their technical skills and knowledge within a hands-on workshop environment.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist experienced technicians with general workshop requirements. Assist with the preparation, rebuilding and fitting of mechanical components and equipment. Carry out practical workshop tasks as instructed. Assist with the handling, preparation and fitting of components as required. Follow instructions and established workshop procedures. Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment. Develop technical and practical knowledge through hands-on workshop experience. Complete tasks accurately and within required timeframes. Work effectively as part of the workshop team.
RequirementsPrevious experience working in a workshop environment, preferably for at least two years. Technically minded with a practical, hands-on approach to work. Grade 12 or equivalent preferred Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to read, understand and follow instructions. Willingness to learn and develop technical skills. Reliable and responsible approach to work. Contactable references from previous employment. Residing in or around Ballito or the surrounding North Coast area, particularly for candidates without their own transport.
AdvantageousPrevious experience in a mechanical or technical workshop. Experience in an automotive workshop, panel shop, auto electrical environment or similar. Valid driver’s licence. Own reliable transport.
