Our client is a well-established South African OEM that designs, manufactures, tests and commissions mineral processing equipment and plants for the mining industry. They operate an ISO 9001 (TÜV SÜD) certified quality system and follow a concurrent engineering approach across business development, engineering, projects and fabrication. Manage the engineering and technical side of projects from conception to completion. You will plan, execute and deliver projects on time, within budget and to high quality, working closely with project managers, administrators and document controllers and providing technical guidance to the team. You will report to the Senior Project Manager and oversee the Junior Project Engineer/Manager, Project Administrator and Document Controller.
Key responsibilitiesDevelop project plans, schedules, milestones, cost estimates and budgetsReview and approve engineering drawings, plans and specificationsIdentify and resolve technical issues and implement quality control processesMonitor fabrication and assembly of equipment in the workshopProcure and manage equipment and materials; allocate resourcesIdentify project risks and put mitigation and contingency plans in placeCompile Quality Control Plans (QCPs), project Databooks and OEM equipment manualsEnsure all materials and buyouts have datasheets, certificates and documentationOversee budget vs actual spend and manage budget and contract changesReport progress, delays and recovery plans to clients and stakeholdersMinimum requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field3–5 years' engineering experienceInventor, Solid Edge and/or SolidWorksStrong MS Office and MS Project skillsExperience with ISO 9001:2015 quality and SHERQ requirementsAdvantageous Master's degree in Engineering or Project ManagementPr Eng registration with ECSAThe right person will be Strong analytical and problem-solving abilityClear communicator of technical informationLeadership and team guidanceGood time management under deadlines
