To provide mechanical services and support in the assigned operational area through effective maintenance and installation of mechanical equipment and machinery.
NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults) with English Literacy. N2 Platers Theory. N2 Platers & Structural Steel Drawing. Section 13 or 26D (completed learnership / apprenticeship) Boilermaker Trade Certificate as recognised by the QTCO. At least 3 years’ experience as a qualified Boilermaker Aide / Apprentice / Artisan within a mining/plant environment. Medically fit to work in the specific business area. Clear security screening record.
Valid Fork Lift and Mobile Crane driver’s licence will be advantageous.
Maintenance, Installations and Construction Adhere to equipment maintenance, installation and construction of work place facilities to standards and specifications. All maintenance, installations and constructions to be inspected and checked for quality purposes. Safe, correct and effective application of equipment and machinery utilised during duties. Adherence to maintenance schedules. Attending to mechanical breakdowns. Escalation of unresolved breakdowns or unsuccessful maintenance, installation and constructions. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. Administration Completion of relevant documentation. Adherence to document control standards and procedures. Provisioning of data and information. Safekeeping of documentation. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. Stakeholder Relations Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and cross-functionally. Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders. Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management related requirements and alignment where applicable. Financial Management Leading and driving cost saving and cash conservation initiatives. Remaining competitive on the global cost curve for surface operations. Building a values-based organisational culture Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan.
