Job Summary

To manage a portfolio of Absa-approved ‘Contact’ motor OEM Partner Dealers by building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships that drive retail market share growth, increase cross-sell of Absa Value-Added Products (VAPs), and ensure dealer compliance with conduct, risk, and governance standards. The role is responsible for end-to-end dealer engagement, sales enablement, and risk oversight to support sustainable business growth and franchise value. Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Absa Policies and Policy Standards. Understand and manage risks and risk events (incidents) relevant to the role.


Job Description

Accountability: Sales Targets:

Manage dealer relationships end-to-end to achieve agreed sales targets through tailored campaigns, packages, and incentive schemes. Formulate and implement dealer-specific sales strategies aligned with AVAF objectives. Monitor dealer performance against targets and proactively address shortfalls. Provide regular reporting and insights to internal stakeholders on sales trends, opportunities, and risks. Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align dealer offerings with customer needs and market dynamics.

Accountability: Relationships management and retention:

 Own and manage a portfolio of Contact OEM Partner Dealers, ensuring consistent engagement and support. Conduct regular face-to-face business reviews with Dealer Principals (DPs) and Finance & Insurance (F&I) personnel to reinforce the AVAF Customer and Dealer Value Proposition (CVP). Promote Absa’s brand and value proposition to increase dealer loyalty and market share. Identify and onboard new high-potential OEM Partner Dealers to expand the approved network. Build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships that position Absa as the preferred finance partner

Accountability: Deal facilitation:

Oversee the full vehicle finance deal lifecycle—from lead generation to payout—ensuring a seamless and professional experience. Collaborate with internal teams (credit, operations, legal) to expedite deal processing and resolve bottlenecks. Maintain accurate pipeline data and ensure timely closure of deals to meet volume and service-level targets. Ensure all deals comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and service standards. Proactively manage turnaround times and customer satisfaction through effective communication and issue resolution.

Accountability: Conversion of low supporting OEM Partner Dealers:

Identify underperforming OEM Partner Dealers using business intelligence tools and volume tracking. Engage with these OEM Partner Dealers to understand challenges and develop tailored action plans to improve performance. Provide training, marketing support, and product education to increase dealer confidence and engagement. Track progress and refine strategies to ensure sustainable improvement in dealer contribution. Strengthen relationships with low-supporting OEM Partner Dealers to position Absa as a trusted and competitive finance partner.

Accountability: Value-Added Products (VAPs) and Short-Term Insurance:

Drive the cross-sell of VAPs and short-term insurance products in collaboration with OEM Partner Dealers and F&I teams. Achieve agreed VAP and Motor Comprehensive (MC) insurance targets. Embed VAPs into the sales process to enhance customer value and increase revenue. Ensure all product offerings comply with regulatory and internal governance standards. Support OEM Partner Dealers through training, tools, and incentives to improve product knowledge and selling confidence.

Accountability: Dealer Health and Conduct:

Monitor and assess dealer financial health, conduct, and compliance to mitigate risk exposure. Ensure adherence to Absa’s ethical standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements. Identify early warning signs of dealer distress or misconduct and initiate appropriate interventions. Collaborate with risk, legal, and credit teams to manage dealer issues and ensure recovery where necessary. Promote a culture of compliance and continuous improvement across the dealer network.

Accountability: Grow Franchise Value:

Drive growth in the floorplan book and collaborate with OEM Partner and alliance partners to expand market share. Identify and refer cross-sell opportunities for business and personal banking products to relevant Absa teams. Support initiatives that enhance the overall value of the AVAF franchise through innovation, partnerships, and customer-centric solutions.
