Job Description
Opportunity exists at Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Delmas for a CJM Delivery Driver to join the CJ Distribution team. The role focuses on the timely and precise delivery of parcels to specified customers following a pre-defined route and schedule. Ensuring parcels are delivered in order and in good condition is paramount.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
Grade 12 or Senior Certificate. Valid unendorsed South African driver’s license. Minimum Code B (Code 08) 0-1 years’ driving experience.
Job Description
Delivery
Ensure that the correct items are delivered to the right clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner. Review orders before and after delivery to confirm completeness, correct charges, and customer satisfaction. Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles. Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules. Comply with all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record. Operate equipment such as Speed Points and Scanning Devices. Anticipate and communicate delays to all relevant stakeholders.
Customer Service
Ensure that all deliveries are correctly checked and signed for by the client. Provide outstanding customer service, answer questions, and handle client complaints.
Reporting
Prepare reports and other documents related to deliveries. Ensure all proof of deliveries presented to the Production Supervisor are accurate and signed. Record and report all discrepancies and issues regarding the delivery accurately.
General
Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Comply with Health and Safety rules and regulations. Adhere to CJM Agency Uniform standards.

General knowledge of South African road rules Identify and resolve potential issues and know when to escalate problems and to which level. Understand timely and professional service delivery. Accommodate clients and their schedules professionally. Communicate ideas and facts verbally using appropriate language. Document use skills Address customer questions in a timely manner. Ensure products and services delivered meet customer requirements. Recognize the need for procedures and follow relevant procedures. Practice safe driving habits as outlined within South African traffic law. Be aware of others and surroundings to actively avoid accidents and security risks at all times. Ability to use navigation software i.e. Google Maps or GPS Navigation devices. Ability to use a smartphone for communication via voice and text. Ability to receive payments via card machine or remote payment device.
