Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Longmeadow has an opportunity available for a DC Dispatch Assistant Manager to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to achieveĀ operational excellence within the Dis-Chem Distribution Centres incorporating functions in the following areas; Order consolidation, Route planning, Dispatch both Local and Line-haul, Returns, Vehicle maintenance and in so doing ensure that both legal and customer requirements are met.


Minimum Requirements
Essential

Grade 12 - Matric or Senior Certificate and relevant Relevant Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management Minimum 3 Years Management experience in Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment


Advantageous

Experience in the Retail/Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Experience with SAP, EWM or other ERP systems

Job Specification…

Ensure optimal route and space planning to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives Understand and execute the planning process involved when stock leaves the distribution centre Routing of vehicles in such a manner to ensure optimum utilisation and vehicle turnaround times Ensure all deliveries picked the previous day, are delivered the next day to local stores and within 48 hours to Coastal stores Managing the productivity within the Department Ensure all managers and supervisors in department manage their staff efficiently Resolve personnel problems by analysing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and take corrective action Ensure accurate administration for transactional excellence and POD requirements Effective and efficient resolution and communication of internal and external customer day-to-day queries Prevent and act on security or risk issues and ensure that risks are dealt with proactively Identify supplier issues that impact required financial objectives and address them at the appropriate level internally and externally

Special conditions of employment

South African Citizen MIE, clear criminal and credit Driver’s license and/or own reliable transport Be able to work any shift i.e. day, night, weekends, holidays and overtime as per business and operational requirements Be able to adapt to working hours according to business needs Must be willing to be rotated to where needed and must be willing to perform any other functions within the department, should the need arise May at times need to lift or move heavy boxes – ensure health and safety standards
