Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician / Millwright to join their team in Somerset West, Cape Town. Applicants should have a Trade-tested Millwright qualification, 3–5 years’ maintenance experience within an FMCG, food processing, or packaging environment, strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities, and experience with automated systems, 3-phase motors, variable speed drives, pneumatic systems, and industrial sensors. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work rotational shifts and weekends.

Trade-tested Millwright.3–5 years’ maintenance experience, preferably within an FMCG, food processing, or packaging environment. Experience working with automated production equipment. Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems. Experience working with:3-phase motors. Variable speed drives (VSDs). Pneumatic systems. Industrial sensors. Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and machine schematics. Must be able to work rotational shifts and weekends. Self-starter with the ability to work independently. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities. Experience within an FMCG food processing and packaging environment. Experience working in an automated manufacturing environment. 

Ensure production equipment reliability. Execute preventative maintenance activities. Provide support for utilities and infrastructure. Manage maintenance systems and stores control. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety requirements. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Attend to all breakdowns, as well as minor maintenance activities, within the targeted turnaround period. Maintain maintenance costs within budget. Achieve maintenance schedule attainment targets.
