REQUIREMENTS :
MBChB degree or equivalent qualification Plus. Certificate of current registration with the HPCSA as a Medical specialist in Surgery.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies required:
Knowledge and skills in adult and Paediatric Emergency Resuscitative intervention. Clinical Knowledge in Acute and Chronic Surgical Management of patients. Good interpersonal and supervisory skills. Supervision of students, interns, doctors, auxiliary staff and registrars. Accomplished in management of surgical trauma. Knowledge and capability of performing and teaching laparoscopic surgery.
DUTIES Provision of quality centered medical care to all patients in the Surgical Unit. Maintain accurate medical record in accordance with legal and ethical guideline. Supervision of interns, doctors, auxiliary staff. Participation after-hours duties are compulsory. Provision to assist in the outreach programs.
