Our client a vertically integrated producer, packer, and exporter situated in the Citrusdal Valley is seeking a Workshop Artisan. This role is crucial in the daily operations of the workshop at our packing facility and will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Key ResponsibilitiesImplementation of good housekeeping practices in the workshop. Management of packhouse equipment spares and maintenance consumable stock levels. Assistance with packhouse-related breakdowns by repairing or assembling parts in the workshop. Fabrication of parts and equipment that will improve production efficiencies, ergonomics and housekeeping. Liaison with service providers on the manufacturing of spares and parts and timely delivery thereof. Management of power tools and lifting equipment, including booking of tools/equipment and related compliances (load tests, inspections, tool maintenance, etc.). Execute maintenance tasks during the post-season maintenance plan. Ensure health and safety standards are followed and safe working practices are executed within the workshop.
Requirements & Competencies Grade 12. Trade Certificate in Boiler Making, Fitting & Turning, or Welding. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mechanical workshop environment. Code 10 Driver’s Licence. Ability to balance planned work with urgent operational requirements. Strong organisational skills. Strong communication skills. Detail-oriented.
