Hiring: Actuarial Manager – Short-Term Insurance (Reserving & SAM) An established financial services organization is seeking an experienced Actuarial Manager to lead its Reserving and Regulatory Capital Management function. This key leadership role involves overseeing statutory and internal reserving processes, driving Solvency Assessment and Management (SAM) calculations, ensuring IFRS 17 compliance, and mentoring a high-performing team of actuarial professionals.
Key ResponsibilitiesReserving & Valuation: Lead end-to-end non-life reserving processes to ensure precise calculation of technical provisions. Regulatory Capital (SAM): Oversee standard formula implementations, ORSA projections, and regulatory reporting (QRTs). IFRS 17 Management: Drive ongoing reserving, reporting, and methodology refinements under IFRS 17. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of actuarial analysts, fostering technical growth and operational excellence. Executive Engagement: Present technical results, variance analyses, and capital reports to executive committees.
Key Requirements Education: Bachelor’s or Honours degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematical Statistics, or a related quantitative field. Professional Qualification: Progression toward or completion of Actuarial Fellowship (FASSA/FIA or equivalent) is highly advantageous. Overall Experience: Minimum 5+ years of total actuarial experience. Domain Expertise: Minimum 3+ years strictly within a Short-Term Insurance (STI) / Non-Life environment. Leadership: Minimum 1+ years of formal team management or supervisory experience over an actuarial team.
