BRIEF DESCRIPTION:-
The Artisan Grade A: Mechanical Plant GMT (Tonga) role involves designing, manufacturing, and maintaining mechanical equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with production standards and legal requirements, and providing technical consulting and problem-solving. The position requires a Grade 12 certificate, relevant trade test certification, and experience as a tradesman, along with strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.

Description
Requirements: A Grade 12 certificate is mandatory, along with an appropriate Trade Test Certificate in Earth moving equipment mechanic, Construction plant mechanic, Tractor Mechanic, or Diesel mechanic. Candidates should possess experience as a Tradesman and be willing to work overtime and on standby shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop designs based on client specifications and within the production capabilities. - Manufacture objects using specified materials and equipment, adhering to recognized standards. - Ensure quality assurance of produced objects. - Conduct inspections of equipment and plant to identify technical faults. - Repair equipment and facilities in compliance with established standards. - Test repaired equipment and plant to ensure adherence to specifications. - Service equipment and plant as per the scheduled maintenance plan. - Quality assure serviced and maintained equipment and/or facilities. - Compile and submit comprehensive reports. - Contribute to the operational plan by providing necessary inputs. - Maintain and update job records/registers. - Supervise and mentor staff members. - Engage in continuous individual development to stay updated with new technologies and procedures. - Conduct research and literature studies on technical/engineering technologies to enhance expertise.
