Our client, an international specialist manufacturer, seeks to employ a Laboratory Technician to join their progressive and expanding professional team. Please note, we do require a candidate who has experience working within a laboratory environment, with exposure to binders, asphalt materials, bitumen, aggregates or related construction materials.


KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION

You will have completed a tertiary qualification in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or a related fieldYou must have good knowledge and practical application of testing standards, including SANS, ASTM, AASHTO, EN or COTOYou will be responsible for testing and evaluating binders, raw materials, aggregates and related construction materials, supporting technical troubleshooting and research and development projectsYou will provide technical troubleshooting and assistance relating to product formulation, plant and field operations, as well as technical support to customers and internal branchesYou will have solid working knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, good laboratory practices, technical record keeping and quality controlStrong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems, with previous experience in an ISO 9001 environment advantageousYou must have strong report writing, scientific writing and technical presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical results effectively to customers and internal stakeholdersYou will be responsible for laboratory equipment maintenance, verification and calibration, as well as ensuring standard test methods are consistently followedYou must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlinesYou must be able to work independently, remain focused under pressure and demonstrate an innovative approach to technical problem-solvingYou must be willing and able to travel to sites and work away from home when requiredPrevious experience in quality management certification will be advantageousYou must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit recordDue to the exceptionally high volume of applications, we are unable to correspond with each applicant personally, therefore only relevant and suitable candidates will be contacted.
