BRIEF DESCRIPTION:-

The Professional Scientist Grade A/B/C (Analytical Services – Biodatametrics Bioinformatics) role involves designing and implementing scientific methodologies, conducting agricultural research and analysis, managing human capital development, and performing administrative duties. The position requires a B. Sc. (Hons) in Biometry or equivalent, registration with SACNASP, and at least three years of post-qualification experience in relevant fields.

SALARY :

Grade A: R791 604 per annum, (inclusive of the full OSD remuneration package) Grade B: R900 957 per annum, (inclusive of the full OSD remuneration package) Grade C: R1 015 071 per annum, (inclusive of the full OSD remuneration package)

REQUIREMENTS :

A NQF 8 Four-year B. Sc. (Hons) in Biometry or an equivalent qualification in statistical sciences. Mandatory registration with SACNASP as a Professional Scientist in the field of Agricultural or Mathematical Science and possession of a valid driver’s license. Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in experimental design, statistics, and computing within the Natural Sciences sector. Knowledge: Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Standards, comprehensive understanding of scientific research methodology, proficiency in field, laboratory, and controlled environmental experiment techniques, robust knowledge of statistical data analysis and programming, sound comprehension of agricultural research methodologies and practices, scientific models, Labour Relations Act, Public Service Act, Public Administration Management Act, Public Service Regulations, Directive on Human Resources Management and Development for Public Service Professionalization, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Departmental HRM and HRD Policies.
