Our client, a reputable entity in the FMCG industry, is in search of a seasoned Key Accounts Manager to bolster their team in Parow Industrial, Cape Town. The chosen candidate will be tasked with nurturing and expanding key retail accounts, fostering robust customer connections, and enhancing sales outcomes. The successful applicant must have 3–5 years of expertise in FMCG key account management, ideally within the confectionery or food industry, boasting an impressive track record of managing major retail accounts such as Pick n Pay, Shoprite, or Checkers. Proficiency in negotiation, data analysis, and Excel operations is imperative, along with a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.

REQUIREMENTS: - Matric is mandatory; a business- or sales-related degree or diploma is highly desirable. - 3–5 years’ experience in FMCG key account management, with confectionery or food industry experience being highly advantageous. - Demonstrated history of managing national or leading retail accounts, including Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, etc. - Exceptional negotiation, numerical, and Excel skills. - Possession of an own vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

DUTIES: - Cultivate relationships and broaden a roster of key retail and wholesale accounts, such as Pick n Pay, Shoprite, and Checkers, while negotiating terms of trade, pricing, and promotional strategies. - Craft and implement account-specific expansion strategies aligned with sales objectives. - Stimulate new listings and augment shelf and distribution presence across accounts. - Track stock levels, sell-through, and demand projections in consultation with procurement and logistics units. - Address escalations, such as delivery complications, disputes, and returns, while upholding high service standards. - Compile monthly account reviews, sales reports, and forecasts for managerial review. - Monitor competitor actions and market trends within the confectionery sector.
