Join our I&J Trawling Division in the Waterfront, Cape Town as a MARINE QC ENGINEER and play a key role in providing effective quality control and technical oversight of mechanical servicing, repairs, and engineering projects, ensuring that all work is executed to the required standards, specifications, and procedures established by I&J Engineering Department.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Reporting Structure: Reports to: Senior SuperintendentKey Areas of Impact: Vessel Engineering remote monitoring and Performance ManagementMonitor vessel engineering systems, machinery performance, alarms, and abnormal conditions. Analyse trends and initiate corrective action to support vessel reliability, safety and efficiency. Workshop Quality Assurance and ComplianceOversee mechanical repairs and servicing to ensure compliance with OEM and quality requirements. Verify tools, procedures and workmanship meet required standards. Main Propulsion Engineering Quality ControlOversee propulsion engine repairs, servicing and projects in accordance with QCP, OEM and Class requirements. Verify critical measurements, testing and workmanship during dry dock activities. Ā Contractor Engineering and Quality ManagementĀ Provide engineering and QC oversight of contractor mechanical work at business unit. Support machinery start up and setting to work activities. Machinery Commissioning and Performance VerificationVerify machinery readiness, commissioning, documentation and OEM running in requirements. Attend applicable sea trials to verify performance. Pressure Testing and Technical ComplianceWitness pressure testing and verify compliance with approved criteria and testing standards. Review and sign off test documentation. Technical Documentation and Service ReportingVerify service reports for accuracy, completeness and compliance. Identify and escalate outstanding defects or additional work requirements.
