**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Officer to join our team in Radiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care and leadership in a multi-disciplinary environment.

**Requirements:**

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a MBChB degree or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner. In addition, HPCSA registration as an independent medical practitioner and completion of Community Service are mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed Part 1 of the Fellowship of the College of Radiologists (FCRad) examination, while those who have passed Part II of the FC Rad examination will be viewed as an advantage.

**Key Responsibilities:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for interviewing, investigating, diagnosing, and overseeing the treatment of patients. This will involve participating in all activities of the discipline, including teaching, departmental audit activities, preparing and writing reports, liaison and communication services, and community liaison. Supervision of junior doctors, including undergraduate students, interns, and community service doctors, is also a crucial aspect of this role. Additionally, the Medical Officer will be required to attend relevant administrative meetings, complete MEDICO Legal Documents in a timely manner, and ensure that administration and record-keeping are done efficiently in the department.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

The Medical Officer will be rotated through related departments in the hospitals and will also be expected to rotate to the Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital. This role requires the ability to work flexible hours, including after-hours duties (night, weekend, and public holiday shifts) to provide continuous uninterrupted care to patients. The Medical Officer will be responsible for rendering clinical services, assessing, and treating patients, as well as participating in departmental meetings, journal clubs, case presentations, lectures, and ward rounds.
