Killarney Gardens Cape Town R25,000 – R35,000 p/m, based on experience and qualifications

We are in search of a proficient and reliable Millwright to join our esteemed engineering division. The selected individual will be tasked with the installation, upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of both electrical and mechanical machinery to guarantee seamless production and reduced downtime.

Key Responsibilities: - Carry out routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment. - Identify and fix electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues. - Perform diagnostics on PLC-controlled machinery and HMI systems. - Service and repair servo motors, laser equipment, and linear scales. - Inspect and maintain electrical control boards and related components. - Respond swiftly to machine breakdowns and minimize production interruptions. - Install, test, and commission machinery and equipment as needed. - Detect recurring faults and suggest effective improvements. - Keep precise records of maintenance and repair activities. - Ensure proper use and storage of tools, equipment, and spare parts. - Collaborate closely with production and engineering team members. - Adhere to all health, safety, and operational protocols. - Support general engineering projects and equipment upgrades.

Minimum Requirements: - A qualified Millwright with a recognized Trade Test certification. - Between three to five years of relevant post-trade experience. - Strong ability in diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults. - Practical experience with: - PLC-controlled machinery - Servo motors - Laser equipment - Hydraulic and pneumatic systems - Electrical control boards - HMI screens - Linear scales - Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings. - Sound knowledge of preventative maintenance practices. - Capability to work both independently and as part of an engineering team. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to function effectively under pressure.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, technically adept Millwright, capable of swiftly identifying faults, executing accurate repairs, and enhancing the ongoing reliability and efficiency of production equipment.
