Primary Purpose of the Job
The Maintenance Group Supervisor will oversee daily administrative and coordination duties within the Maintenance department. They will manage shift leaders, technicians, and specialists in robotics and PLC systems, providing leadership, coaching, and training.
Key Performance Areas
- Achieving a Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) of less than 20 minutes for all subordinates. - Ensuring downtime feedback is under one day with a minimum completion rate of 95%. - Completing Works Order/PM closeouts within seven days. - Keeping equipment downtime under 5%. - Performing weekly downtime analysis (Root Cause Analysis). - Ensuring a Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) of more than 24 hours for all equipment. - Identifying and addressing Unplanned/Unscheduled (UA/UC) issues as per company requirements. - Managing and accurately booking overtime for subordinates, ensuring compliance with legal overtime limits. - Completing all pre-shift and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) inspections punctually.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Expertise in technical techniques, welding, and Bosch system technology. - Proficiency in robot repair and maintenance for Kuka and ABB. - Understanding of BMW V8 and stamp ware manufacturing processes. - Basic knowledge of quality systems. - Ability to troubleshoot and maintain maintenance presses and hydraulic systems. - Skills in problem-solving using 5 Whys and Root Cause Analysis. - Effective communication skills. - Ability to read electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
Minimum Requirements
- Educational level: Technical Diploma or Mechatronics NQF Level 6/Diploma/Degree/Trade. - Minimum five years of experience as a millwright in the electrical field within an automotive environment. - Extensive knowledge of ABB and Kuka robots, TIA Portal, PLC programming (Siemens, S7), Festo, and BMW V8 standard and stamp ware.
