Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Specialist to join our team in Gauteng. The successful candidate will possess expertise in risk insurance or financial services and demonstrate strong client relationship management skills. This permanent position offers an attractive market-related salary and requires fluency in both English and Afrikaans.
Key Requirements: - 3-7+ years' experience in risk insurance or financial services - Relevant financial qualification (e.g., CFP or NQF-aligned qualification) - FAIS compliance for risk advice provision - Product accreditation with major life insurers or willingness to obtain - Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer literate - Experience working with a CRM system (e.g., XPlan) - Valid driver’s license - Fluent in English and Afrikaans - Strong technical knowledge of risk products - Excellent client relationship management and communication skills - High attention to detail and strong administrative accuracy - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strong compliance awareness and commitment to ethical standards
Responsibilities: Client Servicing & Relationship Management: - Manage an allocated portfolio of risk clients - Provide ongoing policy servicing, reviews, amendments, and claims support - Ensure compliance with FAIS requirements and provide exceptional client service
Risk Advice & Policy Structuring: - Deliver appropriate risk advice for life, disability, severe illness, and income protection products - Conduct needs analyses and recommend suitable products - Assist Wealth Advisors and Specialists with risk planning for clients - Identify gaps in client cover and propose appropriate solutions
Integration of Merger Business: - Support onboarding and integration of risk books from merger partners - Review existing policies for relevance, competitiveness, and compliance - Build relationships with clients from acquired books and establish ongoing coverage
Insurer & Stakeholder Engagement: - Liaise with life insurers regarding underwriting, policy servicing, and claims - Maintain strong relationships with key product providers - Ensure ongoing accreditation with relevant insurers
Compliance & Administration: - Ensure all advice and servicing activities adhere to FAIS and internal compliance standards - Maintain accurate client records on Xplan or relevant CRM systems - Assist with audit requirements and provide necessary documentation
Business Development & Growth: - Identify opportunities to expand the risk book within the existing client base - Support Wealth Advisors in cross-selling risk solutions
Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 17:00
