Our client, operating within the FMCG sector in Gauteng, is seeking an accomplished Automation Engineer to bolster their automated manufacturing operations. The chosen candidate will be tasked with the upkeep, enhancement, and optimization of automation and control systems in a dynamic production setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize industrial automation and control systems. - Troubleshoot faults related to PLC, HMI, SCADA, and other control systems. - Provide support during production disruptions caused by automation failures. - Develop and implement improvements in automation processes. - Aid in the commissioning and integration of new automated equipment. - Monitor control systems and identify potential enhancements to improve reliability. - Conduct root-cause analysis on persistent automation issues. - Support preventative maintenance strategies for automation equipment. - Collaborate with electrical, instrumentation, maintenance, and production teams. - Assist in machine upgrades and process improvement initiatives. - Maintain automation programs, backups, and technical documentation. - Ensure all automation activities adhere to safety and operational standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric certificate. - BSc/ BTech in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering. - Experience in automation engineering within an FMCG facility. - Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting. - Familiarity with HMI and SCADA systems. - Knowledge of industrial networks and automation technologies. - Experience with drives, sensors, and control systems. - Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. - Ability to interpret electrical and control-system drawings. - Excellent project and communication skills. - Capability to work efficiently in a production environment.
