Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited seeks a Qualified Clinic Sister to join their team in Tygervalley. The primary purpose of this role is to oversee and operate a lucrative Primary Health Care Clinic situated within a pharmacy, adhering to the scope of practice of a registered nursing practitioner.
Essential Qualifications: - Matric or equivalent - Tertiary qualification in General Nursing or a related field - Degree/Diploma in Midwifery - Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) - Nursing practitioner must hold BHF registration - Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister - Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook - Advantageous: Additional 5 years of experience in a Primary Health Care Sister role - Familiarity with patient record systems, CKS, and Allegra
Job Description: The Clinic Sister will be responsible for adhering to industry regulations and best practices while managing clinic operations. Key duties include maintaining an average feet-per-hour rate, setting clinic objectives to improve patient care, ensuring all clinic services are available, maintaining accurate patient records, and following up on communications. The role also involves ensuring clinic availability according to set hours, processing claims timely and accurately, maintaining proper stock and equipment conditions, and ensuring sufficient stock levels. Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders such as patients, Store and Dispensary Manager, colleagues, Medical Aids, suppliers/representatives, and community healthcare providers is crucial. Competencies include knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, and specific areas like pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS pre- and post-counseling, breastfeeding, wound care, quarterly CPD training, and strong analytical skills. Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial skills, trustworthiness, and the ability to manage both self and team are advantageous. Bilingual proficiency and an understanding of business objectives are also beneficial. Special conditions include being physically fit, having a valid driver's license, being a South African citizen, and possessing a clear credit and criminal record. The remuneration package is market-related, including medical aid and a provident fund.
