Main purpose of the roleThe incumbent will be responsible for meal preparation of food & daily kitchen production. Must provide good quality food service, working hand in hand with chefs. Must be able to read recipes, follow menu planning, and understanding HSE.
Education and ExperienceMinimum of 2 years’ experience as a Cook Working in contract catering environment is advantageous Food and Beverage or Culinary arts qualification (Advantageous) Matric Knowledge, Skills and Competence: Knife handling skills Must understand flavour profiles Kitchen experience Heat and portion control Understanding of food safety Good communication skills
Key Areas of ResponsibilityContribute to the efficient running of the kitchen by producing and presenting food of the highest quality Supporting the kitchen team with general duties. Reporting any hazardous obstacles Apply health, Safety and environment standards (HSE) Reporting to Unit Manager or senior on site
