We're seeking someone to keep the service's data trustworthy. To steward the data, find and fix quality problems, and reconcile between the contingent workforce platform and the HR and finance systems, so that reports and controls rest on accurate records. The role suits a data analyst or steward who enjoys tracing a break back to its source. About the ServiceA leading South African financial institution is mobilising a managed service to run its contingent workforce process end to end. The service covers the full contractor lifecycle: requisitions, supplier routing, onboarding, contractor care, renewals, timesheets and deliverables, billing control and exits. It operates for a large population of contractors and consultants placed by a panel of more than 200 recruitment suppliers. The service is delivered by a neutral managed service provider, on the client's systems and under the client's policies. The client keeps every decision that matters: policy, budget, rates, selection, payment and settlement. The provider administers, controls, reports and improves, and treats every supplier equally.
Key ResponsibilitiesData StewardshipMonitor completeness, accuracy and consistency of the workforce, supplier and financial data. Maintain data definitions and quality rules. ReconciliationReconcile between the vendor management platform and HR and finance systems, and resolve breaks. Track data exceptions to closure with the owner of the source. ReportingReport data quality metrics and root causes, and recommend fixes to the reporting lead. What success looks like Data quality measured and improving against defined rules. Reconciliation breaks between systems resolved with source owners. Root causes of recurring data errors identified and fixed. Boundaries of the role Independence is central to this service. This role does not:change source records without the owner's approval, or use data access to influence supplier or candidate outcomes.override, or act in place of, a client decision on policy, budget, rates, selection, payment, settlement or risk acceptance.favour or disadvantage any supplier or candidate.influence supplier allocation, candidate screening or progression, rate outcomes, commercial disputes or supplier standing. This role sits in a ring-fenced specialist team. You must declare any current or recent relationship with the client institution or with any supplier on its panel. Requirements
QualificationsDegree or diploma in information systems, statistics, business or a related field. ExperienceAt least 7 years in data quality, data stewardship or data analyst roles. Experience with SQL and data reconciliation across systems. Skills and knowledgeData quality management. SQL and reconciliation. Root-cause analysis. Attention to detail and communication. Systems and toolsSQL, Excel, business intelligence tools, and familiarity with HR and finance systems. Advantageous Experience with HR or workforce data. Personal attributesPersistent in tracing breaks to source. Diplomatic when a source owner must change a record. Documents rules and findings.
