Vacancy Opportunity Status Staffing presents an Electrician position in Bellville. The ideal applicant should hold an N6 National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, possess a Red Seal qualification, and have a 3 Phase Wireman’s License. Experience in wiring, PLC programming, electrical drawings, and maintenance is a must, with PLC installation and programming being highly advantageous. This is a permanent role, starting immediately, with a salary range of R22,000 to R27,000, depending on experience.

Key Qualifications: - N6 National Diploma in Electrical Engineering - Red Seal qualification - 3 Phase Wireman’s License - Experience in wiring, PLC programming, electrical drawings, and maintenance - Ability to design and program PLCs and touch screen control systems - Proficiency in designing and testing switchboards and chassis - Capability to perform electrical design and drafting using CAD, Revit, and SketchUp - Strong communication and coordination skills

Job Responsibilities: - Oversee production staff and daily activities - Cost new designs and establish Bill of Materials (BOM) - Monitor raw material prices and approve orders for bulk materials - Ensure personnel are adequately trained and qualified - Improve personnel skills and promote self-discipline - Foster improved communication and coordination throughout the company - Handle and chair disciplinary actions and hearings - Motivate personnel and manage Human Resources functions - Handle all union-related issues and maintain sound industrial relations - Keep accurate records of personnel information - Ensure a safe workplace for all staff

Safety Responsibilities: - Ensure all staff use issued safety equipment, wear company overalls, and maintain them - Investigate injury incidents on duty and implement preventative actions - Report all safety hazards to the Production Director - Attend safety meetings, conduct safety inspections, and compile reports - Oversee plant electrical maintenance - Ensure compliance with all departmental and plant safety rules and regulations - Address safety non-conformances immediately and escalate unresolved issues to directors - Continually develop process optimization to ensure safety standards are met

Housekeeping Duties: - Monitor daily stock levels of consumables and wires - Assist with monthly stock takes - Count and maintain records for products, equipment, assets, production tools, machinery, raw materials, WIP, consumables, and parts

Work Environment: - Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 - Willingness to work extra hours when necessary
