Our client seeks a highly proficient Maintenance Technician / Millwright to join their team in Somerset West, Cape Town. Candidates should possess a Trade-certified Millwright certification, 3–5 years of experience in maintenance within an FMCG, food processing, or packaging sector, exceptional mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, proficiency with automated systems, 3-phase motors, variable speed drives, pneumatic systems, and industrial sensors. The ideal applicant will demonstrate self-motivation, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficient verbal and written communication, and the capability to operate rotating shifts and weekends.

REQUIREMENTS: Trade-certified Millwright.3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in the FMCG, food processing, or packaging sectors. Experience in managing automated production machinery. Strong fault diagnosis abilities across mechanical and electrical systems. Experience with:3-phase motors. Variable speed drives (VSDs). Pneumatic systems. Industrial sensors. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and machine schematics. Must be able to adapt to rotating shifts and weekends. Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-diagnosis abilities. Experience within the FMCG food processing and packaging sectors. Experience working in an automated manufacturing environment. DUTIES: Maintain equipment reliability in production. Ensure adherence to preventative maintenance routines. Support utilities and infrastructure. Manage maintenance systems and stores control. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Attend to all equipment breakdowns and minor maintenance tasks within the designated resolution timeframe. Maintain maintenance costs within budgetary limits.
