Our client, a leading manufacturer in KZN, is in need of a skilled Mechanical Technician to guarantee the consistent operation of their plastic production machinery.
Duties
- Conduct both scheduled preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance - Address and resolve production breakdowns to restore equipment functionality - Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues - Inspect machinery to determine maintenance needs - Maintain and repair industrial production equipment - Work on pumps, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and related machinery - Assist with machinery installations and commissioning - Participate in planned shutdowns and maintenance projects - Support production teams in identifying and resolving mechanical faults - Identify recurring equipment failures and help with root-cause investigations
Requirements
- Matric certificate - Fitter Trade Test certification - 3 - 5 years of experience in a plastic manufacturing facility - Extensive experience in mechanical maintenance and breakdown repairs - Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems - Ability to interpret engineering and mechanical drawings - Experience with rotating equipment and production machinery - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
