Vacancy Details

Our client, located in Bellville, Cape Town, is currently seeking an accomplished Machine Builder/Assembler to join their team on a permanent basis. The right candidate will possess at least five years of experience in a factory or manufacturing environment, with demonstrated expertise in machine building or mechanical assembly.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a factory, manufacturing, or industrial environment. - Prior experience as a Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, Fitter, or similar role. - Minimum N4 Mechanical qualification. - Qualified Fitter/Millwright Artisan certification. - Forklift License. - Basic skills in MIG/TIG welding. - Safety qualification or training, such as NOSA, is advantageous. - Extensive knowledge in mechanical assembly and machine-building processes. - Proficient in using electrical, mechanical, and standard hand tools. - Skilled in accurately using measuring equipment such as verniers, angle protractors, squares, spirit levels, and tape measures. - Good understanding of mechanical components, fasteners, sheet metal, and structural materials. - Physically fit and capable of working at heights, climbing ladders, stairs, and pedestals as needed. - Safety-conscious with a strong adherence to safe working practices. - Must own reliable transportation and be able to travel to and from work, including overtime duties. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Duties

• Assemble and fit components such as gearboxes, pulleys, sprockets, chains, conveyors, rollers, and bearing components. - Work with various types of sheet metal and structural materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, angle iron, tubing, flat bar, channels, and sectional materials. - Utilize electrical and mechanical hand tools, including drills, grinders, tapping machines, spanners, and other standard hand tools. - Employ precision and general measuring equipment, such as verniers, angle protractors, squares, spirit levels, and tape measures. - Handle various fasteners like bolts, nuts, screws, rivets, and rivnuts. - Perform basic MIG/TIG welding as required. - Operate a forklift within the scope of the relevant license. - Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a safety-conscious approach at all times. - Work at heights, including climbing ladders, stairs, and pedestals as needed.

Employment Type: Permanent Sector: Factory Basic Salary: R65 – R70 per hour depending on experience + overtime allowance Start Date: ASAP
