BRIEF DESCRIPTION:-
The Regional Procurement and Merchandising Manager for BUCO Eastern Cape (Northern Region) is responsible for developing and implementing regional procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring efficient stock levels. Key requirements include a Grade 12 qualification, relevant tertiary education, and a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar retail procurement role.

Develop and implement Regional Procurement strategies in alignment with the Group Procurement Strategy and budgets and business objectives Collaborate with Category Managers and Product Specialists – Engage with Category Managers and Product Specialists to execute category strategies, maximize opportunities, and address supply chain challenges Conduct Supplier Negotiations – Negotiate base prices, regional deals, forward orders, and Key Value Indicator (KVI) pricing Maintain Stakeholder Relationships - Actively liaise and engage with the supplier network and internal stakeholders, including the Group Merchandising team, Store Managers, and Store Buyers, to manage expectations and ensure delivery Facilitate Regional Supplier Listing Process – Ensure that all procedures and processes are followed when listing Regional Suppliers Assist Marketing Organize and coordinate product and supplier service training and related initiatives as required Manage and implement strategies aimed at maintaining efficient stock levels and appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Best Practices Ensure Stock File Integrity - Maintain the integrity of the stock file in accordance with stock file guidelines Manage Procurement Procedures – Ensure that the regional merchandising portfolio adheres to all stipulated procedures and processes Gather Market Intelligence – Assess and ensure business competitiveness Manage Regional Promotions - Plan, coordinate, and execute regional promotions Promote and uphold the company values and culture
Requirements
Grade 12 (essential) Relevant tertiary qualification (NQF6) ideally with a Retail/Procurement focus (desirable) Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position in a computerised retail environment (essential) Experience gained at a middle management level (essential)
