The Road Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating specialized equipment, conducting equipment inspections and maintenance, and maintaining accurate records. Key qualifications include a Grade 10 certificate, valid Plant Operator Certificate, and driver's license, with an Occupational Health and Safety certificate considered an asset. **Key Requirements and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, applicants must possess a Grade 10 certificate (NQF Level 3) along with a valid Plant Operator Certificate and a valid driver's license (Code EC). While not mandatory, an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) certificate for the equipment to be operated is considered an asset.

**Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies**

This position requires a strong foundation in occupational health and safety principles, as well as excellent listening and communication skills. Effective interpersonal relationships and the ability to work collaboratively with team members are also crucial. Additionally, prior experience in operating specialized equipment is highly desirable.

**Primary Responsibilities**

As a Road Operator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specialized equipment. Key tasks include:

• Operating specialized equipment to load and offload goods and equipment, while adhering to strict safety protocols. * Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of equipment to identify and report any defects or issues. * Maintaining accurate log sheets for vehicles and machinery, and implementing safety and precaution measures to prevent accidents. * Performing routine cleaning and lubrication of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance. * Grading gravel roads and re-gravelling as necessary, while also maintaining the condition of road shoulders.
