An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Specialist in Tax Court Litigation at a company based in Pretoria.

Salary: Market Related, up to R 1.6 m CTC, negotiable

Job Purpose

To engage in litigation concerning revenue matters within Tax, High Courts, including the Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court, in accordance with applicable statutes and court rules. Additionally, provide expert legal advice on relevant issues.

Education and Experience Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

• Honours / Post Graduate Diploma (NQF 8): Law, Admitted Attorney AND 10-12 years' experience in a Legal / Tax / Litigation environment, of which 3-4 years at a specialist level.

• Alternatively, Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) AND 12 - 15 years related experience, of which 3 - 4 years at a specialist level. A postgraduate qualification in law is advantageous.

• Offer specialist advice and opinions to SARS operations and management on significant tax matters.

• Represent SARS in the Tax Court and Higher Courts in tax appeals.
