Our client, a leading name in the furniture and interior design industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Showroom Manager to join their team in Paarl, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving retail and trade sales, developing key client relationships, and ensuring an exceptional showroom and customer experience.

3–5+ years of experience in showroom management or senior retail sales within the furniture, home décor, or interior design industry. Established and verifiable connections with interior decorators, architects, and trade procurement clients in the Winelands/Cape Town region. Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing, upholstery, timbers, fabrics, and the performance of indoor and outdoor materials. Proficiency in inventory/POS software (e.g. OMNI, SAP, or similar retail ERP systems), as well as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a sophisticated and consultative sales approach. Fluency in English and Afrikaans is essential for the local Paarl customer base. A valid South African Driver’s License and reliable transport. Proven ability to meet showroom sales targets across both retail and trade channels. Demonstrated ability to grow the trade customer base, including the successful registration and onboarding of new active trade accounts. Ability to maintain showroom visual standards and floor presentation, with a strong focus on operational excellence and zero audit discrepancies. Commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience, including effective post-purchase support and timely resolution of customer issues. 

  Sales & Business Development (Retail & Trade): Drive showroom sales performance to meet and exceed monthly and annual revenue targets. Actively cultivate and manage relationships with local interior decorators, designers, architects, and property developers to grow the trade pipeline. Host private trade consultations, showroom walk-throughs, and exclusive networking events for trade partners. Guide retail customers through personalized design consultations, product specifications, customization options, and material selections. 

Maintain impeccable visual merchandising, layout standards, and floor displays in line with brand guidelines. Oversee daily floor operations, ensuring a welcoming, luxury hospitality experience for all visitors. Manage end-to-end sales processing, customer quotations, orders, and payment reconciliations through the ERP/POS system. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure seamless delivery and installation timelines for trade and retail clients. 

Lead, mentor, and motivate showroom sales staff to deliver exceptional customer service. Set individual sales targets, monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and conduct regular performance reviews. Provide ongoing product knowledge training, objection-handling techniques, and trade sales strategies to the sales team. 

Perform stock audits, monitor inventory levels, and manage showroom display floor stock. Provide weekly and monthly reports on sales performance, foot traffic, conversion rates, and trade account activity to executive leadership.
