A prominent company in Epping, Cape Town, is seeking a skilled and proactive Warehouse Manager to join their team. This role requires an individual with extensive supervisory or management experience, exceptional organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of warehouse, operations, production, or logistics environments. The ideal candidate must possess a Grade 12/Matric certificate, be fully proficient in both Afrikaans and English, demonstrate computer literacy, and own a dependable vehicle. Familiarity with an ERP system and a relevant qualification in Operations, Production, or Logistics would be highly beneficial.

REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum Grade 12/Matric qualification - A qualification in Operations, Production, Logistics, or a related field is highly advantageous - Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English - Own reliable transportation - Previous management or supervisory experience - Proficient in standard office applications - Experience with an ERP system is highly advantageous
DUTIES: - Ensure that all orders placed before 14:30 are picked and handed over to Dispatch for checking at the end of each shift - Effectively manage picking operations, maintaining productivity throughout the day and picking orders for the following day when possible - Keep the back-order report up to date by printing and reviewing it at the end of each shift - Track, report, and resolve picking and system errors or delays, investigating and resolving discrepancies between physical stock and system records promptly - Report any transgressions, incidents, or errors to the General Manager immediately - Ensure staff adhere to all time and attendance requirements at all times, preventing staff from leaving the premises at the end of a shift if picking activities are incomplete - Maintain accurate daily records and reconcile picking slips to avoid unnecessary reprints - Liaise with the Dispatch department regarding foreseeable delays or operational issues - Restrict access to the Whole Goods and Finished Goods warehouses to authorized personnel only, controlling access by sales representatives, customers, and members of the public - Ensure that all warehouse entrances are locked when not in use and that stock remains secure at all times - Manage forklifts, ensuring correct operation and regular maintenance - Manage pallets daily, repacking stock appropriately, and returning or allocating pallets for dispatch as required - Ensure incoming stock is promptly packed away, with no stock remaining on the warehouse floor for longer than 48 hours after receipt - Maintain a clean, neat, safe, and orderly warehouse with FIFO (First In, First Out) stock management - Manage temporary, casual, and container staff daily, maximizing productivity and minimizing inefficiencies - Manage waste management processes, using resources efficiently and controlled - Take responsibility for the yard and all activities within it, maintaining good condition and perimeter security - Ensure compliance with applicable food safety management systems, quality standards, policies, and procedures - Comply with all applicable occupational health and safety regulations - Ensure warehouse staff comply with housekeeping and workplace standards - Complete all required food safety and operational documentation before the end of each working day - Attend food safety inspections, committee meetings, operational meetings, and other relevant meetings as required, ensuring timely completion and signing off of actions - Adhere to all applicable food safety requirements and report any violations to the relevant manager - Perform other duties assigned as required by operational needs - Notify purchasing and production personnel of critically low stock levels or expected stock not received - Manage, train, and develop warehouse staff on company policies, procedures, and operational requirements - Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the warehouse function - Maintain accurate attendance registers, ensuring timely completion of leave and overtime documentation - Manage warehouse staff effectively to achieve maximum productivity and operational efficiency - Maintain the warehouse in a stock-take-ready condition at all times - Plan, coordinate, and manage all stock takes and cycle counts, ensuring accurate reconciliations, variance investigations, and reporting - Review and authorize stock adjustments, verifying and supporting all adjustments properly - Review and authorize credit notes, ensuring accurate processing and return of returned physical stock within the required timeframe - Attend to employee relations and disciplinary matters, maintaining appropriate discipline in accordance with company procedures - Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards by all warehouse staff - Maintain complete and auditable records throughout all warehousing processes - Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) and all applicable regulations - Perform ad hoc duties in other departments when required to meet operational needs - Prepare and maintain daily and monthly operational reports as required - Provide accurate and timely information to the General Manager and senior management when needed - Assist with investigations into delivery failures, picking errors, credits, and other operational discrepancies - Liaise with relevant departments and customers regarding order status and expected delivery times - Maintain a strong customer-service focus and ensure customer requirements are addressed professionally and efficiently - Perform any other reasonable duties as required to support the operational needs of the business.
