Location: Epping, Cape Town
Our esteemed client in Epping, Cape Town, is actively seeking a seasoned Warehouse Manager to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in supervisory or management roles, exceptional organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse, operations, production, or logistics environments. Essential qualifications include a Grade 12/Matric certificate, bilingual proficiency in Afrikaans and English, computer literacy, and a personal vehicle for transportation purposes. Proficiency in ERP systems and a relevant degree in Operations, Production, or Logistics is highly desirable.

Responsibilities: - Ensure timely picking and dispatch of orders before 14:30, and manage post-14:30 orders for the next day. - Maintain accurate back-order reports and promptly address any discrepancies between physical stock and system records. - Investigate and resolve any inconsistencies in stock levels immediately. - Report any incidents or errors to the General Manager. - Enforce adherence to time and attendance standards, with no staff leaving the premises before completing picking tasks. - Keep meticulous records of daily operations and reconcile picking slips as needed. - Facilitate communication between Dispatch and other departments regarding operational issues. - Control access to warehouse areas, restricting entry to authorized personnel only. - Maintain all forklift operations, ensuring proper usage and regular maintenance. - Organize daily pallet management and repacking of pooled stock, returning pallets as required. - Ensure all incoming goods are stored promptly and no inventory remains on the floor for more than 48 hours. - Adhere to FIFO stock management principles and maintain a clean, orderly warehouse. - Manage all temporary, casual, and container staff, maximizing productivity while minimizing inefficiencies. - Oversee the waste management process, ensuring resources are utilized efficiently. - Take responsibility for yard maintenance and security, ensuring perimeter protection is upheld. - Comply with food safety management systems, quality standards, and occupational health and safety regulations. - Ensure all warehouse staff comply with housekeeping and workplace standards. - Complete required documentation before the end of each working day. - Attend relevant meetings, inspections, and training sessions, following through on action items. - Adhere to food safety requirements and report any violations promptly. - Perform other duties as assigned by operational needs. - Notify purchasing and production teams of critically low stock levels or delayed deliveries. - Manage staff development, training, and adherence to company policies. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the warehouse function. - Maintain accurate attendance records, manage leave and overtime documentation, and enforce disciplinary actions. - Ensure all warehouse processes are OHS compliant and perform ad hoc duties as needed. - Prepare and present operational reports to management. - Communicate effectively with customers regarding order status and delivery expectations. - Maintain a customer-focused approach in all interactions. - Perform any additional tasks as required to support business operations.
