Job Overview Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role necessitates an individual with the ability to establish, implement, and maintain quality systems. The successful candidate must ensure that all subordinates align with the job descriptions and quality operating system procedures. Key responsibilities include managing subordinate performance, maintaining ISO and OEM system-based quality systems, meeting customer requirements, continuously improving product quality, budget management, handling customer requests and complaints, managing quality performance indicators, training and mentoring subordinates, and improving Quality Management Systems (QMS) in alignment with customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities - Manage the performance of subordinates - Maintain quality systems per ISO and OEM standards - Ensure customer requirements are met - Improve product quality and systems through performance analysis and corrective actions - Establish and manage the Quality Department budget - Handle customer requests and complaints - Monitor quality performance indicators - Train and mentor subordinates - Continuously improve the QMS in line with customer expectations
Required Skills and Competencies - High-quality orientation, self-starter mentality, time management, and ability to perform under pressure - Customer-focused approach prioritizing internal and external customer needs - Strong cooperation skills, including initiative, teamwork, and networking - Collaborative work ethic with all MA team stakeholders - Accountability for activities and decisions across all impact factors - Strong leadership skills with effective communication, autonomy, and coaching abilities - Intercultural sensitivity to leverage team diversity for organizational goals - Effective communication and information sharing to secure buy-in - Adaptability to technological changes, identifying training gaps, and implementing solutions - Auditing skills including process and product audits, general audit reports, corrective actions, and timing - Six Sigma tools, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and core tool implementation - Minimum of 5 years experience as a Quality Department Manager in a similar automotive manufacturing environment - Minimum of 10 years experience in the automotive industry, with a preference for German-based factories - Strong knowledge of core quality aspects such as geometry, surface quality, and structural integrity
Minimum Requirements - B-Tech degree in Quality Management or equivalent - Familiarity with Total Quality Management, ISO standards, customer standards (BMW), and IATF - Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles, preferably in the automotive sector - Six Sigma tools proficiency
