Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a seasoned Cashier to join their team at the Cape Road store in Gqeberha. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional customer service at the point of sale, ensuring an outstanding shopping experience. Accurately record transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system, adhering to stringent company policies and standard operating procedures, with zero tolerance for errors or fraud.
Essential Requirements: - Grade 12 / Matric - Minimum of six months’ experience in cashier/till operations - Proficient in MS Office - Strong numerical skills - Excellent command of the English language - Basic customer service skills - Willingness and ability to work retail hours
Job Description: - Comply with Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures - Establish professional relationships with customers - Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management - Adhere to the customer turnover hourly rate - Stay informed about current sales and promotions - Ensure the safety of colleagues and customers - Follow Dis-Chem 5-star communication principles - Manage cash flow - Approve and sign off all line voids and price changes with the supervisor - Exchange merchandise and accept returned goods when authorized - Process all purchases and payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, other accepted forms) - Handle loyalty cards from partners (Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks) - Place cash in the drop safe as per Dis-Chem’s SOPs - Restrict usage of your code and password to personal use and change them regularly - Scan and pay for all outgoing stock/items/scripts - Securely store all money inside the till - Handle daily takings confidentially and discuss only with management - Report suspicious behavior to management - Address queries regarding store merchandise - Comply with Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures
