**Job Overview**

This position entails overseeing all customer transactions with precision and efficiency. The role encompasses processing payments, managing cash, welcoming customers, and providing accurate receipts and change. The ideal candidate will also ensure a neat and tidy checkout area and support various store functions such as stocking shelves, pricing products, and conducting inventory counts.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

• Package and prepare merchandise for shipment - Calculate and record sales transactions - Count and verify cash drawer balances at the start of shifts - Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins - Establish or determine the prices of goods and calculate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical scanners - Greet customers and assist them within the store - Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers - Maintain periodic balance sheets of transaction amounts and counts - Receive payments via cash or card - Ensure checkout areas are clean and orderly - Stock shelves and affix prices on shelves and products - Conduct stock takes

**Qualifications and Skills**

• Matric / Grade 12 certification - Computer literacy - Previous experience as a cashier - Proficiency in handling money - Excellent customer service skills - Strong interpersonal abilities - Trilingual capability (Afrikaans, English, and Zulu) (preferred)
