Dis-Chem Pharmacies is actively seeking part-time checkout operators for its Eastgate locations. The goal of this initiative is to cultivate a reserve of qualified individuals, equipped with the necessary skills and attributes, to fill future openings within Dis-Chem Pharmacies.
Role Purpose: To deliver superior customer service at the checkout counter, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience. Accurately record transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system in compliance with company guidelines and standard operating procedures, maintaining zero tolerance for errors and fraud prevention.
Requirements: • Grade 12 / Matric • Minimum of 6 months of cashier or till operation experience • Proficient in MS Office • Excellent numerical skills • Strong command of the English language • Basic customer service experience • Willingness and ability to work flexible retail hours
Job Description: • Follow Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures • Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers • Report customer complaints and compliments to the frontline supervisor or store management • Adhere to the hourly customer turnover rate guidelines • Stay informed about current sales and promotions • Ensure the safety and security of colleagues and customers • Apply Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles • Manage cash flow effectively • Ensure line voids and price changes are approved and signed by a supervisor • Exchange merchandise and process returns when authorized • Handle all accepted forms of payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons) • Process all loyalty cards, including those of our partners (Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks) • Securely store cash in the drop safe per Dis-Chem SOPs • Use your code and password safely and change them regularly • Scan and process all outgoing stock and items • Safely and securely handle all cash • Maintain confidentiality of daily takings, discussing only with management • Be vigilant for and report suspicious behavior to management • Address inquiries about store merchandise • Adhere to Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures
