Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled Temporary Checkout Operator for its Wonderboom branch. The role entails delivering top-notch customer service at the point of sale, while maintaining a premium shopping experience. Ensure precise recording of customer transactions on the Dis-Chem system, following company policies and SOPs, with zero tolerance for inaccuracies and fraud.

Essential Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in cashier or till operations • Proficient in MS Office • Excellent numerical and English language skills • Basic customer service experience • Willingness to work flexible retail hours

Job Description

• Implement Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and standards • Build professional relationships with customers • Report customer feedback to the Frontline Supervisor or store management • Adhere to hourly customer turnover expectations • Stay informed on current sales and promotions • Ensure risk-free environment for colleagues and customers • Follow Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles • Manage cash flow effectively • Approve and sign off on line voids and price changes as directed by the supervisor • Exchange and accept returned merchandise as authorized • Process all forms of payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, etc.) • Handle loyalty cards from partners including Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks • Securely store cash in the drop safe following Dis-Chem SOPs • Maintain strict security for personal code and password • Scan and pay for all outgoing stock/items/scripts • Ensure safe and secure handling of cash • Maintain confidentiality of daily takings and discuss only with management • Identify and report suspicious behavior to management • Address customer queries regarding store merchandise • Comply with Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures
