Your role will involve upholding the accuracy of financial reporting, regulatory submissions, IFRS 17 integration, and the reconciliation of actuarial, investment, and general ledger information.
Responsibilities
- Directing the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles - Crafting and scrutinizing financial statements, disclosures, and management reports - Conducting financial performance analysis and delivering actionable insights to senior leadership - Overseeing the financial review of IFRS 17 results and reporting outcomes - Guaranteeing the correct incorporation of IFRS 17 outputs into the General Ledger and financial statements - Managing the preparation and submission of QRT and regulatory returns - Ensuring alignment across finance, actuarial, investment, and capital reporting - Reviewing and evaluating investment portfolio reports and fair-value shifts - Analyzing market risks such as interest rate, equity, foreign exchange, and credit risks - Collaborating with Investments and Risk teams to evaluate capital and profitability impacts - Enhancing reporting frameworks, controls, and automation initiatives - Partnering with Finance Systems, IT, Data, and Actuarial teams to bolster reporting capabilities
Qualifications & Skills
- 6-10 years of experience in financial reporting within the insurance or reinsurance industry - Extensive knowledge of IFRS 17 reporting - Demonstrable experience in preparing financial statements and technical accounting - Experience working in tandem with actuarial, risk, and investment teams - Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities - Familiarity with SAM, SCR, MCR, or equivalent regulatory frameworks is a plus - Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills - Proficiency with Power BI, SQL, and automation tools is highly advantageous
Education
- CA(SA), ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA
