Overview: The East Rand Dis-Chem Pharmacy is seeking a Dispensary Support to join their team. The primary role involves recruiting learners who can complete the learner basic pharmacist assistant course. This course provides learners with a strong foundation in pharmaceutical principles and dispensing, emphasizing the importance of quality through practical learning experiences. Once qualified, permanent employment will be considered.
Qualifications: Essential Requirements: - Grade 12 or Matric with Pure Mathematics 50%, Life Science, and/or Physical Science, achieving a minimum average of 50%.
Specific Duties: Dispensary Support staff must possess a proficiency test certificate to become a learner basic assistant registered with the Pharmacy Council (SAPC). Under the supervision of a pharmacist, they can: - Sell Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances - Assist with compounding, manipulation, or preparation of non-sterile medicine or scheduled substances according to approved formulas and SOPs - Unpack and merchandize stock while cleaning dispensary and OTC shelves as directed by the pharmacist - Perform any other duties assigned by the Dispensary Manager
Competencies: Essential Skills: - Proficiency in English and a second language - Strong time management and deadline adherence - Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail - Excellent communication skills - Professional customer service and problem-solving abilities - Teamwork and conflict management - Accountability, professional conduct, and trustworthy behavior
Computer, numerical, and organizational skills are advantageous.
Additional Advantageous Qualifications: - Prior experience in retail FMCG, Dis-Chem front shop, or drug and family planning knowledge - Familiarity with complementary medicine - 3rdUnisolv, SAP, and E-Scripting proficiency
Special Conditions: Applicants must undergo a proficiency test to meet Pharmacy Council registration requirements. They must be South African citizens with a clean criminal and credit record.
