Venue Description ----------------- Platinum Park store operations seek a Dispensary Support to join the team. The primary objective is to recruit learners who can successfully complete the learner basic pharmacist assistant course. This educational program will provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical environment and dispensing principles, emphasizing the importance of quality in hands-on learning. Employees will be hired on a Fixed Term basis until they obtain registration with the South African Pharmaceutical Council (SAPC) as a learner basic assistant. Permanent job offers will only be extended once the individual is officially recognized as a basic pharmacist assistant. Minimum Requirements... Essential: Grade 12 – Matric or a Senior Certificate with a minimum of 50% in Pure Mathematics, Life Science and/or Physical Science.
Job Specification... Dispensary Support personnel must have successfully passed a proficiency test to qualify for registration with the Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a learner basic assistant. A pharmacist's assistant registered in the category of learner basic assistant is authorized to perform the following tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist in a pharmacy setting: selling Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances, assisting with the compounding, manipulation, or preparation of non-sterile medicines or scheduled substances as per approved formulas and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by the responsible pharmacist, assisting with unpacking and merchandising of stock, and cleaning dispensary and OTC shelves under the direction of the pharmacist. Other duties may be assigned by the Dispensary Manager. Learners must accurately interpret scripts, act professionally and responsibly, and adhere to legal requirements as outlined by the South African Pharmaceutical Council. They are responsible for ensuring accurate picking, packing, labeling, and checking of medication, being aware of common dosages and drug interactions. Learners must ensure all medications are double-checked for accuracy and signed off by a pharmacist. They will also assist in controlling stock levels (from Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines or scheduled substances), follow up with patients regarding script tracking reports as directed by the dispensary manager, and engage in call centre scripts and patient service telephone calls. Additionally, they provide health promotion information, assist with scheme authorization for chronic, HIV and AIDS, and oncology medication, report on low/out-of-stock levels and stock errors to the dispensary manager, receive dispensary stock in compliance with the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Advantageous Qualifications: --------------------------- Experience in retail FMCG, Dis-Chem front shop experience, and a strong performance record. Familiarity with drug and family planning, as well as complementary medicine. 3rdUnisolv, SAP, and E-Scripting expertise.
Special Conditions of Employment: ------------------------------- Proficiency test to assess the ability to register with the Pharmacy Council. South African citizenship, MIE, and a clear criminal and credit history.
