Our client, located in Somerset West, Cape Town, is on the lookout for an experienced Maintenance Technician / Millwright. Candidates should hold a Trade-tested Millwright certification, possess 3–5 years of maintenance experience in industries such as FMCG, food processing, or packaging, and demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. Experience with automated systems, 3-phase motors, variable speed drives, pneumatic systems, and industrial sensors is essential. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work rotational shifts and weekends.

BASIC SALARY: R35 000 – R40 000 + Benefits START DATE: A. S. A. P

REQUIREMENTS: - Trade-tested Millwright certification. - 3–5 years’ maintenance experience, ideally in FMCG, food processing, or packaging sectors. - Proficiency in automated production equipment. - Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. - Experience with: 3-phase motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), pneumatic systems, and industrial sensors. - Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and machine schematics. - Capability to work rotational shifts and weekends. - Self-starter with independent working ability. - Robust analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

DUTIES: - Ensure the reliability of production equipment. - Perform preventative maintenance activities. - Provide support for utilities and infrastructure. - Manage maintenance systems and stores control. - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety requirements. - Achieve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). - Address all breakdowns and minor maintenance tasks within set turnaround times. - Maintain maintenance costs within budget. - Meet maintenance schedule attainment targets.
