CONTEXT
Our client is a prominent international entity in the gaming, leisure, and entertainment sectors, providing thrilling and engaging customer experiences, both in physical venues and online. They are seeking a Mid-Level Front End Developer to construct and uphold superior web applications using React and TypeScript. You will integrate into one of their front-end or full-stack teams, reporting directly to the squad’s Tech Lead. You will be responsible for delivering features from conception to completion, collaborating closely with senior engineers, designers, and product managers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain responsive, precise web applications utilizing React and TypeScript. Integrate front-end functionalities with RESTful APIs. Compose clean, testable, and readable code following design patterns, SOLID, and OO principles. Author unit and integration tests, and support automated testing frameworks. Own features from start to finish, meeting agreed timelines. Engage in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and back-end developers. Participate in agile ceremonies including planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Identify and address technical issues, escalating as required. Provide timely and clear status updates to your Tech Lead and stakeholders. Stay updated with front-end technologies and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
3 to 5 years of commercial web development experience. Proven proficiency in React and TypeScript/JavaScript. Extensive experience in integrating with RESTful APIs. Strong understanding of SOLID principles, OOP, and design patterns. Experience in writing unit and integration tests. Familiarity with building, automating, and deploying software to production. Preferred: Tailwind CSS, Material UI, CSS grid, Storybook or component libraries, Node.js, Next.js or Remix. Preferred: Experience with front-end automated testing tools (e.g. Jest, Playwright, Cypress). Previous experience in the betting, financial, and/or banking sectors is advantageous. Gaming industry knowledge is a plus but not mandatory. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar preferred; practical experience is highly valued. SA citizenship or permanent residency required.
