Description
The aim of this role
is to conduct research, conceptualize, implement, evaluate and oversee the ongoing enhancements of software systems, creating individual programs that comply with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government.
Main Responsibilities
Engineer or tailor software solutions for client applications to boost operational efficiency utilizing SITA's software development stack and framework. Supervise the installation of software systems and ensure that all equipment operates in accordance with specifications. Draft comprehensive specifications and develop the necessary program codes. Maintain the functionality of integrated IT software systems post-installation. Create detailed Technical Service Specifications for individual or multiple software components to guide the procurement or development of these components.
Qualifications and Experience
A 3 Year Diploma / Degree in ICT (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology, Engineering) or a related field is required. An Oracle PL/SQL certification or Oracle Apex certification is considered beneficial. Demonstrated experience: 3 - 5 years in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including systems development, implementation, and the maintenance/enhancement of solutions in the corporate sector.
Technical Competencies Description
Demonstrated expertise in computer science, including algorithms, data structures, operating systems, and databases. Comprehensive understanding of the user requirement process and techniques for identifying functional software requirements. Familiarity with Governance frameworks like Cobit and ITIL. Proficient in the software development process and its technologies. Skilled in designing and developing test plans and software simulators to facilitate various levels of testing. Knowledgeable in reporting the results of different testing levels, including discrepancies between software and related documentation. Proficient in design techniques, tools, and principles for creating precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Expertise in the verification and validation of design documentations at different software/system design levels. Proficient in development methodologies (e.g. RUP, OpenUp, Agile) and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Knowledgeable in Commercial off-the-Shelf (COTS) Oracle Database products. Knowledge of software and technology security. In-depth understanding of software development fundamentals and software requirements, along with comprehensive knowledge of all components involved in the software development process, from requirements gathering and design through to development, testing, deployment, and support. Proficient in software testing techniques and tools. Extensive knowledge and experience with development methodologies (e.g. RUP, OpenUP, Agile) and the SDLC. Knowledgeable in Commercial off-the-Shelf Oracle Database products. Proficient in software and technology security. Sound understanding of software development fundamentals and software requirements, along with a comprehensive understanding of all components involved in the software development process, from requirements gathering and design through to development, testing, deployment, and support. Proficient in software testing techniques and tools. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle APEX (Application Express), as well as one or more major programming languages, including HTML and JavaScript, Java, shell scripting, and Jasper Report writing. Experienced in one or more major database systems, including Oracle and Mongo. Proficient in performance tuning and optimization across applications and databases. Strong teamworking experience.
