Position Overview

Our client, a prominent international gaming, leisure, and entertainment conglomerate, is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to bolster their development team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s development strategy by creating and maintaining features across various systems. This role demands close collaboration with senior engineers and tech leads.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and senior engineers to develop and maintain features that minimize reliance on legacy systems. - Craft clean, high-quality code adhering to object-oriented programming (OOP) best practices, design patterns, and principles such as SOLID and DRY. - Own assigned tasks, ensuring they align with business and compliance standards. - Develop and maintain peer, developer, and unit tests, and keep test plans updated. - Engage in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to uphold code quality. - Analyze issues, determine root causes, and collaborate with senior engineers on resolving more complex or ambiguous problems. - Assist in investigating and resolving production issues with guidance, including lower priority tickets. - Offer practical and well-reasoned insights into solution approaches, with direction from senior team members on trade-offs. - Support technical execution on assigned tasks within projects, working alongside senior engineers on more intricate components. - Clearly communicate progress, obstacles, and risks to the team and tech lead.

Qualifications

• Full stack, back end, or front end experience, depending on placement: front end requires 2+ years of React/TypeScript and RESTful API integration (Material UI, CSS grid, and Tailwind CSS are advantageous); back end requires experience with. NET/C# in building RESTful APIs and MS SQL database development (queries, stored procedures). - Experience with front end automated testing tools is advantageous. - Ability to write unit tests and a working knowledge of SOLID design principles. - Previous experience in betting, financial, and/or banking sectors is advantageous. - Growing expertise in writing clean, testable, and readable code using design patterns, SOLID, and OOP principles. - Some experience in building, automating, and deploying software to production. - Strong technical analysis skills, capable of translating business requirements into functionality. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and exhibit great attention to detail. - Ability to work independently, take ownership of work, and meet deadlines. - Gaming industry knowledge or experience is a plus, though not mandatory. - Bachelor's degree preferred, though a strong academic background combined with practical experience is valued.
