We seek a highly motivated and skilled Junior Researcher to join our team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in a collaborative environment, managing research projects, and promoting the institute's services and products to relevant stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
As a Junior Researcher, you will contribute to the success of our research programs by:
- Conducting research in a team context or individually under the guidance of experienced researchers. - Effectively managing personnel, including training, evaluation, and maintaining positive working relationships within the team. - Marketing and promoting the institute's services and products to relevant role-players, showcasing our expertise and capabilities. - Planning and managing research activities, ensuring the efficient use of facilities and resources, and fostering partnerships with experts in the field. - Managing the research budget in accordance with financial policies and procedures, ensuring cost-effectiveness and proactive financial management. - Ensuring the successful completion of research projects and programs in compliance with established standards. - Adhering to Occupational Health and Safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. - Participating in institute activities, such as research committee and section meetings, and seminars, contributing to the growth and development of our research community.
**Requirements:**
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering or an equivalent field, accompanied by a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering (Hons) or an equivalent four-year science degree. - A minimum of one peer-reviewed publication showcasing your research expertise. - At least two years of experience in agricultural engineering research, directly related to your MSc studies. - Registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA is an added advantage. - A track record of competitive fund raising for research will be viewed favorably. - Excellent communication and planning skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
