BRIEF DESCRIPTION:-
The Professional Scientist Grade A/B/C role involves designing and implementing methodologies and systems in Rangeland Ecology and Management or Pasture Science, conducting scientific analysis, and performing research and development activities. Candidates must hold an NQF level 08 degree in Agricultural Science with relevant experience, registration with SACNASP, and possess strong technical and leadership skills.

SALARY: Grade A: R791 604 per annum (comprehensive OSD remuneration package)
Grade B: R900 957 per annum (comprehensive OSD remuneration package)
Grade C: R1 015 071 per annum (comprehensive OSD remuneration package)
LOCATION: Kokstad Research Station
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualification: An NQF level 08 four-year degree in Agricultural Science (BSc) (Hons) with a major in Rangeland Ecology and Management / Pasture Science. Mandatory registration with SACNASP as a Professional Natural Scientist and possession of a valid driver’s licence.
Experience: A minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience in the fields of Rangeland Ecology and Management or Pasture Science.
Knowledge: A thorough understanding of agricultural research methodologies, as well as practical applications in Rangeland Ecology and Management or Pasture Science. Familiarity with the Labour Relations Act, Public Service Act, Public Administration Management Act, Public Service Regulations, Directive on Human Resources Management and Development for Public Service professionalization, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Departmental HRM and HRD Policies.
